Draft of a Landscape: IRVING PARK VERTICAL
The Society for the Preservation of Lost Things and Missing Time (TSFPLTMT)
May 21 - June 21, 2014
Draft of a Landscape: IRVING PARK VERTICAL asks that viewers suppose that Portland is not a human habitation, but a psychic entity in which nothing that comes into existence passes away, that all previous phases of development, continue to exist parallel to the latest and most current one. IRVING PARK VERTICAL is a speculation upon the landscape, where the forces of memory, science, commerce, and fiction convene as an expansive, highrise complex. It is a leap onward in the inevitable union of forward thinking expansion, sleek modernist ideal, vertical ambition, and futuristic oblivion. Brochures will be distributed gratis to the visiting public and a small catalog will be made available for purchase. As part of the opening reception an introductory video seminar will be screened twice per hour in closed sessions, with a complementary champagne toast for viewers.
